Universidad Nacional de General San Martín (UNSAM)

Who are we?

UNSAM, Argentine state university founded in 1992, has become a leader in higher education, research, cultural development and social transformation.

How do we matter for CoAct?

In CoAct, the collaboration with UNSAM will take place through the Centre for Research on Transformations (CENIT), which became part of the National University of San Martin in 2018. CENIT is a research organisation funded in 1989, based in Buenos Aires, whose objective is to contribute to debates about economic and social transformation in Argentina and Latin America. Our research has served as an input to promote a socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable productive structure.

Our role within CoAct?

UNSAM will lead Research and Innovation Action #3: Environmental Justice in Buenos Aires. In collaboration with FARN, UNSAM will perform a collective research on bottom-up environmental indicators. UNSAM will also especially participate in the conceptual work of the project in regards to Citizen Social Science foundations, in the evaluation and impact assessment of the methodological framework, and the participatory research activities.
