QPR: digital platform to collect citizen driven data in a collaborative map

Aim

• The digital platform follows three main purposes: to share experiences of the actions carried out by communities living in the basin; to organise the scattered public information and to collectively produce new information to facilitate interactions and actions for transformation.
• The platform has the potential to become an intermediary space for actors to ideate actions of transformation. They could access public information –currently scattered- in a single place together with citizen-generated data on three important themes for Environmental Justice.
• The platform will be used by different users’ profiles, including educators, researchers, community actors and public policy actors.

Some elements needed for this tool are:

• A computer or a mobile phone with internet connection.
• Optional: a digital camera if you want to share pictures.

Step-by-Step

1. When the alpha version is ready, be sure the code is openly available and shared open source
2. Organise implementation workshops to guide the initial use of the platform with key stakeholders
3. Create support materials (see 13)
4. Expand dissemination (online presentations, participation in community events, dissemination through local press and social media)
5. Create and be involved in networks of stakeholders that could promote its use, both as citizen scientists and users of citizen-driven data
6. Contact local media
