Open Knowledge International (OKF)

Who are we?

OKF is a global non-profit organisation focused on realising open data’s value to society by helping civil society groups access and use data to take action on social problems.

How do we matter for CoAct?

The Open Knowledge team has several decades of combined experience working on the legal, technical and social aspects of data sharing. Open Knowledge is widely known to be both, one of the originators and leaders in open data as well as in building robust, sustainable open infrastructure for publishing, sharing and working with data generally.

Our role within CoAct?

OKF will lead the endeavouring of new Citizen Social Science spaces, with a focus on Gender Equality. Based on its international network in Europe and specially in European Eastern countries, OKF will mentor the winners of two Open Calls: one for Eastern European countries and one for projects related to opportunities and risks of Digitalisation in safeguarding Gender Equality. OKF’s expertise in Citizen generated data, data literacy training, and open materials will be translated into capacity building activities.
